Abstract

Tema ovog diplomskog rada je simulacija kokilnog lijevanja utega od aluminijeve legure. Rad je podijeljen u dva dijela, prvi teorijski i drugi eksperimentalni.
U teorijskom dijelu rada ukratko je objašnjen značaj industrije lijevanja u proizvodnoj industriji te značaj aluminija u obje. Nadalje, dana je podjela postupaka lijevanja aluminija i aluminijevih legura u trajne kalupe. Naglasak je stavljen na kokilni lijev, dok su ostali postupci ukratko objašnjeni. Dan je pregled najčešće korištenih legura za kokilni lijev, dok su aluminijeve legure korištene u ovom radu posebno obrađene. Na kraju teorijskog dijela opisan je značaj simulacije procesa lijevanja. Razrađene su njene mogućnosti, prednosti i način rada. Također, ukratko je obrađen programski paket za simulaciju lijevanja ProCAST.
U eksperimentalnom dijelu rada simuliran je kokilni lijev dvaju aluminijevih legura. Promatran je utjecaj temperature predgrijavanja kokile i temperature lijevanja na trajanje vremena do skrućivanja i pojave poroznosti u odljevku. Dobiveni rezultati simulacije analizirani su ANOVA metodom te su dobivene odzivne površine za vrijeme skrućivanja i pojavu poroznosti. Na kraju, rezultati simulacije uspoređeni su sa stvarnim stanjem odljevka, odlivenim u Laboratoriju za ljevarstvo na Fakultetu strojarstva i brodogradnje. Rezultati simulacije poklapaju se sa rezultatima stvarnog lijevanja odnosno simulacija je točno predvidjela lokaciju poroznosti u stvarnom odljevku.

Abstract (english)

The topic of this thesis was the simulation of permanent mould casting of weights made of aluminum alloy. The thesis was divided into two parts, the first being theoretical and the second experimental.
In the theoretical part of the thesis, the significance of the casting industry in manufacturing industry was briefly explained, as well as the importance of aluminum in both industries. Furthermore, the casting processes of aluminum and aluminum alloys into permanent molds were described. The focus was on permanent mould casting, while other processes were briefly explained. An overview of the most commonly used alloys for permanent mould casting was given, with special attention to the aluminum alloys used in this study. The theoretical part ended with a description of the importance of casting simulation. Its capabilities, advantages, and operation were discussed. Additionally, the casting simulation software ProCAST was briefly introduced.
In the experimental part of the thesis, the permanent mould casting of two aluminum alloys was simulated. The influence of mould preheating temperature and casting temperature on the solidification time and the occurrence of porosity in the casting was analysed. The simulation results were analysed using the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) method, and response surfaces for solidification time and porosity probability were obtained. Finally, the simulation results were compared with the actual casting, produced in the Foundry laboratory at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture. The simulation results match the results of the actual casting, which means that the simulation accurately predicted the position of the porosity in the actual casting.
