Abstract

Prirodna vlakna sve su češća zamjena za do tada tradicionalne vrste ojačala u izradi kompozitnih materijala. Ekologija i kružno gospodarstvo utjecali su na porast biljnih vlakana u tehnologijama proizvodnje zbog njihovih mehaničkih svojstava, recikličnosti, maloga utjecaja na okoliš, male emisije CO2 i širenja privrede na zabačene dijelove svijeta u kojima se ljudi još uvijek bave agrokulturom. Sama prirodna vlakna nemaju dovoljno dobra mehanička svojstva za primjenu u svim područjima strojarstva te se hibridizacijom miješaju sa staklenim vlaknima kako bi se utjecalo na njegov porast. Cilj ovoga rada bio je ispitati utjecaj hibridizacije lanenih vlakana staklenima u epoksidnoj matrici i uvidjeti utjecaj vode na mehaničko ponašanje takvih materijala. Voda je najmanje utjecala na mehanička svojstva kompozita koji su samo od staklenih vlakana ili su vlakna s vanjske strane materijala te su takva svojstva zamjetljiva i na mehaničkim svojstvima. Uzorcima koji su bili u vodi smanjio se modul, a rastezna su i savojna čvrstoća jedino porasle kod materijala sa SSSSSS i SLLLLS konfiguracijom.

Abstract (english)

Natural fibers are an increasingly common substitute for previously traditional types of reinforced composite materials. Ecology and the circular economy have influenced the growth of plant fibers in production technologies due to their mechanical properties, recyclability, low impact on the environment, low CO2 emissions and the expansion of the economy to remote parts of the world where people still engage in agriculture. Natural fibers alone do not have good enough mechanical properties for application in all areas of mechanical engineering, so they are mixed with glass fibers through hybridization in order to influence its growth. The aim of this work was to examine the influence of the hybridization of flax fibers with glass in an epoxy matrix and to see the influence of water on the mechanical behavior of such materials. Water had the least effect on composites that are only made of glass fibers or the fibers are on the outside of the material, and such properties are also noticeable in the mechanical properties. The modulus of the samples that were in water decreased, while the tensile and flexural strength only increased in materials with SSSSSS and SLLLLS configuration due to better fiber adhesion and their protection against water penetration.
