Abstract

Polimerni kompoziti se primjenjuju već dugi niz godina u raznim industrijama, a pogotovo u
transportnoj. S obzirom na resurse za proizvodnju, industrija se sve više okreće primjeni
kompozitnih tvorevina gdje ojačavalo čine prirodna vlakna ili čestice. Za razliku od
konvencionalnih vlakana (staklenih, ugljičnih ili aramidnih), vlakna prirodnog porijekla imaju
lošu kompatibilnost s polimernom matricom pa te je često potrebna predobrada vlakana kako
bi se poboljšala kompatibilnost. U teorijskom dijelu rada težište je na kokosovim vlaknima te
su opisana njihova svojstva, prerada i način proizvodnje. U praktičnom dijelu rada opisano je
kemijsko i fizikalno tretiranje vlakana, izrada kompozitne tvorevine i ispitivanje mehaničkih
svojstava. Osim navedenog, uspoređena su mehanička svojstva kompozitnih ispitaka i ispitaka
od čiste epoksidne smole, materijala matrice kompozita.

Abstract (english)

Polymer composites have been used for many years in various industries, especially in
transport. Considering the resources for production, the industry is turning more and more to
the application of composite products where the reinforcement consists of natural fibres or
particles. Unlike conventional fibres (glass, carbon or aramid), fibres of natural origin have
poor compatibility with the polymer matrix, so fibre pretreatment is often required to improve
compatibility. In the theoretical part of the work, the focus is on coconut fibres; their properties,
processing and production methods are described. The practical part of the work describes
chemical and physical treatment of fibres, making of a composite product and testing of
mechanical properties. In addition to the above, mechanical properties of composite tests and
tests made of pure epoxy resin, the matrix material of the composite, were compared.
