Abstract

Mjedi su legure bakra i cinka, koje mogu sadržavati i manje količine drugih metala. Zbog svojih dobrih mehaničkih svojstava, lake obradivosti i otpornosti na koroziju mjedi su prepoznate i u vojnoj industriji, gdje se masovno koriste u proizvodnji strjeljiva, najčešće za izradu čahura različitih kalibara. U teorijskom dijelu rada opisana je podjela i svojstva legure bakra, njegova upotreba u izradi strjeljiva, te korozijski fenomeni tipični za leguru bakra i cinka, mjedi. U eksperimentalnome dijelu detaljno je prikazano provedeno laboratorijsko ispitivanje svojstava korozijske postojanosti mjedi s i bez zaštite inhibitorima korozije u različitim atmosferskim uvjetima. Ispitivanja su provedena na uzorcima mjedenih čahura u slanoj i vlažnoj komori u trajanju od 624 sata te su analizirani rezultati i izvedeni zaključci.

Abstract (english)

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc, which may contain lesser amounts of other metals. Due to its good mechanical properties, light processing and corrosion resistance, brass are also recognized in the military industry, where they are used massively in the production of ammunition, most commonly for making cartridge cases of different calibers. The paper is divided into theoretical and experimental part. The theoretical part of the paper describes the division and properties of copper alloys, their use in making the ammunition, and the corrosion phenomena typical of copper and zinc alloys, brass. In the experimental part, a detailed laboratory test of the properties of corrosion resistance of brass with or without protection at various atmospheric conditions is presented. Tests were performed on specimen of brass cartridge cases in salt and humid chamber for 624 hours, and results and conclusions were analyzed.
