Abstract

U radu su provedene numeričke simulacije pokusa slobodne vožnje brodskog vijka u stvarnoj veličini i vlastitog pogona broda za rasuti teret u stvarnoj veličini. Modeli su ispitani u bazenu za modelska ispitivanja Brodarskog instituta u Zagrebu. Numeričke simulacije viskoznog strujanja provedene su metodom konačnih volumena (eng. Finite Volume Method) primjenom programskog paketa STAR-CCM+. Numeričke simulacije pokusa slobodne vožnje brodskog vijka su provedene primjenom metode višestrukih referentnih koordinatnih sustava (eng. Multiple Reference Frame). Studija verifikacije je provedena za tri različite gustoće mreže konačnih volumena konstantnog omjera profinjenja te je pokazano da gruba mreža konačnih volumena daje zadovoljavajuće rezultate. Rezultati dobiveni numeričkim simulacijama za pokus slobodne vožnje su uspoređeni s ekstrapoliranim rezultatima modelskih ispitivanja. Pokazano je da je i za grubu mrežu moguće postići zadovoljavajuće slaganje s eksperimentalnim rezultatima. Za numeričke simulacije pokusa vlastitog pogona broda su korištene „Virtual disk“ metoda i „Body Force“ metoda za modeliranje međudjelovanja trupa broda i brodskog vijka, te „Volume of Fluid“ metoda za opisivanje i određivanje položaja slobodne površine. Kao ulazni podatci za „Body force“ metodu su korišteni hidrodinamički koeficijenti brodskog vijka dobiveni numeričkim simulacijama pokusa slobodne vožnje vijka. Snaga predana brodskom vijku i broj okretaja brodskog vijka dobiveni numeričkim simulacijama pokusa vlastitog pogona su uspoređeni s ekstrapoliranim rezultatima modelskih ispitivanja te je postignuta zadovoljavajuća točnost.

Abstract (english)

In this work numerical simulations of the open water test for full scale marine propeller and self propulsion test of the bulk carrier in full scale were carried out. The models were tested in the towing tank of the Brodarski Institute in Zagreb. Viscous flow numerical simulations are performed using the Finite Volume Method within the STAR-CCM+ software package. Numerical simulations of the open water test were carried out using the Multiple Reference Frame method. The verification study was performed for three different densities of finite volume grid having constant refinement ratio. It has been shown that the coarse grid of finite volumes yields satisfactory results. The results from numerical simulations for the open water test are compared with the results extrapolated from towing tank measurements. It has been shown that it is possible to achieve a satisfactory agreement with the experimental results even with a coarse grid. For the numerical simulations of the self propulsion test, the „Virtual Disk” method and the „Body Force” method for modelling the interaction between ship hull and marine propeller and the „Volume of Fluid” method for tracking and locating of the free surface were used. As the necessary input data for the „Body force” method, the propeller hydrodynamic coefficients obtained from the numerical simulations of the open water test were used. The delivered power and propeller's rotational speed obtained numerically from the self propulsion test were compared with the results extrapolated from the model tests. The satisfactory accuracy has been achieved.
