Abstract

U radu je bio zadatak napraviti analizu potresne otpornosti konstrukcije vodotornja. U uvodu su opisani vodotornjevi kroz povijest, a i njihove moderne izvedbe. Također smo i naveli važeće regulacije eurokoda prema kojima se ovakve konstrukcije moraju konstruirati. Metoda konačnih elemenata je isto tako kratko opisana. Nakon uvodnog dijela napravljen je pregled zavarenih konstrukcija sa svojim prednostima i manama koje se koriste danas te je odlučeno koja izvedba će se analizirati u radu. U trećem poglavlju je napravljena analiza prvo tako da smo dali pregled mogućih elemenata koji će se koristiti te je odabran najpovoljniji za potrebnu analizu koristeći programski paket Abaqus. U ovom dijelu su odabrane dimenzije vodotornja koje su potrebne i nakon toga se napravila konstrukcija spremnika i stupa te njihovo vezanje. Unutar analize određena su sva svojstva materijala i presjeka korištenih za konstrukciju. Također unutar analize određeni su svi rubni uvjeti i opterećenja. Zapisi o potresima korišteni u analizi dobiveni su iz baze podataka ESM (Engineering Strong-Motion Database). Nakon što su obje analize provedene napravljena je analiza rezultata gdje smo promatrali naprezanja i pomake u kritičnim presjecima te je na temelju tih rezultata izveden i zaključak.

Abstract (english)

The task of this paper was to make seismic resistance analysis of water tower structure. The introduction describes water towers throughout history but also modern version of them. Also, eurocode was mentioned to which these types of structures have to be design by. Finite element method was also briefly described. After the introduction, summary of welded structures in use today was given stating pros and cons of each one and the choice which one will be used was made. Third chapter is numerical analysis which was made by choosing element which will be used after listing possible options for Abaqus software. In this part dimensions of water tower are chosen and after that the design of water tower has been made containing type of connection between tank and column. During analysis all material and section properties used for design are defined. Also, all boundary conditions and loads are defined during process of making analysis. Seismic records are provided from ESM (Engineering Strong-Motion Database). After we made both types of analysis where the focus was on stress and displacement in critical sections, the result of both analysis were made and compared. In the end conclusion was made.
