Abstract

Tema završnog rada je primjena biokompozita za gradnju rekreacijskih plovila. U današnje vrijeme pokušava se pronaći ekološki prihvatljivu alternativu svim materijalima koji tijekom svoje proizvodnje zahtijevaju veliku količinu energije te nemaju mogućnost recikliranja. Tako i u gradnji rekreacijskih plovila kao i u maloj brodogradnji trenutno se koriste materijali koji štetno utječu na okoliš.
Teoretski dio ovog završnog rada daje uvid u prednosti i nedostatke kompozitnih materijala i prirodnih vlakana te poteškoće u upotrebi istih u zahtjevnom okruženju u kojem se nalaze. Eksperimentalni dio rada opisuje izradu dvije vrste kompozita ojačanih prirodnim biljnim vlaknima s matricom od epoksidne smole s visokim udjelom biorazgradivog sadržaja. Također, opisuje se ispitivanje mehaničkih svojstava provedenih na materijalu koji ukazuju na moguću primjenu ovog materijala u raznim granama industrije. Nadalje, prikazan je kratki test higroskopnosti koji je trenutačno i najveća prepreka u primjeni ovog materijala u uvjetima velike vlage ili potpune uronjenosti u vodu.
Zadnji dio ovog rada obuhvaća analizu plovnosti rekreacijskog plovila izrađenog od biokompozita. Izračunom mase plovila i proračunom početnog stabiliteta kojeg definiraju tri uvjeta plovnosti pokazalo se kako je ovaj materijal moguće primijeniti za izrađen model plovila.

Abstract (english)

In this bachelor thesis, the possibility of application of biocomposite material for recreational craft in marine environment was analyzed. Today, scientists are trying to provide an alternative to all the materials that, during their production, require a lot of energy and don't have a possibility of recycling. So, in marine application materials that are currently used have significant ecological impact on its environment.
Theoretical part of the thesis gives an insight into the advantages and disadvantages of composite materials and natural fibers, also it gives an insight to problems of application of this types of materials exposed to rough environment. Experimental part of this paper presets manufacturing and mechanical testing of two types of composite material reinforced with natural fibers using an epoxy matrix with a large proportion of biodegradable content. Results of mechanical testings show the possibility of wide application to all branches of industry. Also it describes a short experiment of hygroscopicity which currently represents the main obstacle for application of these types of materials when exposed to harsh environment.
The last part of this paper deals with calculation of essential characteristics due to the application of biocomposites to a recreational vessel, in this case a canoe. The calculation of the vessel mass and initial stability, defined by the three conditions of initial stability, showed that this material could be applied to the developed 3D model of the vessel.
