Abstract
Predmet razmatranja rada je tehnologija kokilnog lijevanja, razvoj kokilnog lijevanja kroz povijest uključujući faze automatizacije u prošlosti, sadašnjosti i budućnosti. U radu je navedena problematika lijevanja u metalne kalupe (kokile), tehnološki postupak lijevanja te prednosti i nedostaci lijevanja u kokile. Detaljnije je opisan tehnološki postupak lijevanja, uključujući pripremanje kalupa, ulaganje jezgri, zatvaranje kalupa, lijevanje, hlađenje te vađenje odljevka. Napravljen je kratki osvrt o skrućivanju materijala nakon lijevanja što je jedna od najvažnijih pojava u izradi proizvoda lijevanjem. Opisane su računalne simulacije kao naophodan alat u industriji i proizvodnji. Eksperimentalni dio temelji se na simulaciji lijevanja izvedenoj u softverskom programu ProCAST i skrućivanja u programu QuickCAST, analizirani su rezultati računalne simulacije. Rezultati simulacije su uspoređeni sa stvarnim stanjem odljevka odlivenim u Laboratoriju za ljevarstvo na Fakultetu strojarstva i brodogradnje.
Abstract (english)
This thesis deals with the technology of permanant mold die casting, its development throughout history, and past, present and future phases of casting automation. The paper lists issues when casting in metal molds (dies), and procedure’s advantages and disadvantages. Furthermore, the whole technological process of casting is described in detail with steps such as: mold preparation, core insertion, mold closing, casting, cooling and removal of the casting. Additionally, paper gives a brief review of material solidification as one of the most important phenomena in casting. Computer simulations have nowadays become a necessary tool in both industrial design and manufacturing; therefore the experimental part of the thesis is based on casting simulations executed in ProCAST and QuikCAST software package. The results of computer simulations were then analyzed and compared with the actual castings produced in foundry the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture.
