Abstract

U modernom svijetu sve više se razvija se briga o okolišu. Pretjerana emisija CO 2 u atmosferu te nekontrolirana potrošnja neobnovljivih fosilnih goriva doveli su do neodrživosti sustava. Potreba za održivim rješenjima sve je veća, osobito u sektoru prometa. Bicikl se nameće kao najjeftinije i ekološki najprihvatljviije prijevozno sredstvo. U ovo radu je opisana primjena materijala kod bicikla. Definirana je struktura i podjela bambusa te su analizirane dvije vrste bambusa (Tonkin bambus i Ku Zhu bambus) skenirajućim elektronskim mikroskopom. Ispitana su mehanička svojstva bambusa koja su uspoređena s ostalim materijalima koji se primjenjuju za izradu okvira bicikla. Svrha ovog rada je prikupiti više znanja o bambusu i dokazati da je moguće primjeniti bambus za izradu okvira bicikla.

Abstract (english)

In modern world concern for environment is increasing. Excessive CO 2 emission and uncontrolled consumption of non renewable fossil fuels have led to unsustainable system. The need for sustainable solutions is increasing especially in the transport sector. The bicycle is imposing itself as the cheapest and environmentally friendly vehicle. In this paper, application of materials on bicycles are described. Structure and classification of bamboo is explained and two species of bamboo ( Tonkin Cane and Bitter bamboo) are analysed with scanning electron microscope. Mechanical properties of bamboo were tested and compared with traditional materials used for bicycle frame to determine their suitability for designing a frame. The purpose of this study was to gain more knowledge on bamboo and prove his suitability in use as an alternative material for bicycle frame.
