Abstract

Aluminijske legure imaju dobra mehanička svojstva koja se mogu postići prirodnim starenjem ili toplinskom obradom, što ih čini široko upotrebljivim konstrukcijskim materijalom. Korozijska otpornost te relativno mala težina su karakteristike koje ih uz dobra mehanička svojstva čine prihvatljivim u brodogradnji, zrakoplovnoj i svemirskoj industriji te vojnoj industriji. Dobra električka svojstva i manja težina iskorištena su i u elektroindustriji. U teorijskom dijelu rada obrađena su fizikalno - kemijska svojstva te primjena aluminijskih legura. Također, u teorijskom dijelu opisani su razni korozijski procesi, s tim da je posebna pažnja posvećena elektrokemijskoj koroziji. U eksperimentalnom dijelu rada elektrokemijskim metodama određen je korozijski potencijal, polarizacijski otpor i gustoća korozijske struje u običnoj (vodovodnoj) vodi, te morskoj vodi pri sobnoj temperaturi, kao i pri povišenim temperaturama. Također, određena je sklonost aluminijskih legura ka rupičastoj koroziji. Nakon eksperimentalnog dijela analizirani su rezultati, te je na temelju rezultata izveden zaključak.

Abstract (english)

Aluminium alloys have good mechanical properties which can be achieved by natural aging or by heat treatment, which makes them a widely usable construction material. Corrosion resistance and relatively low mass are the two characteristics that, along with good mechanical properties, make aluminium alloys acceptable for shipbuilding, aviation and space industry, as well as the military industry. Moreover, good electrical properties and the low mass are exploited in the electric power industry. The theoretical part of the paper deals with physicochemical properties and the application of aluminium alloys. Furthermore, various corrosion processes are described, with special emphasis on electrochemical corrosion. In the experimental part of the paper, electrochemical methods were used to determine corrosion potential, polarisation resistance and corrosion current density of both tap water and sea water at room temperature and at elevated temperatures. In addition, the tendency of certain aluminium alloys towards pitting corrosion was determined. Finally, based on all of the information gathered, the results are analysed and a conclusion is made.
