Abstract

Modificiranje osobnog motornog vozila je zahtjevna praksa koja iziskuje temeljitu prilagodbu
komponenti vozila u svrhu postizanja boljih performansi. Ta prilagodba podrazumijeva
podešavanje softverskih postavki motora, ali i zamjenu brojnih drugih tvornički postavljenih
komponenti vozila. Automehaničari su, kroz višegodišnje iskustvo provođenja takvih preinaka,
utvrdili neke često ponavljajuće probleme, a jedan od takvih je i problem loma glave klipa
motora EA888/3 CHHA. U ovom radu je analiziran upravo jedan takav slučaj u kojem je došlo
do kvara tvornički postavljenog klipa u motoru na kojem je provedena značajna modifikacija.
U uvodnom dijelu rada su sagledane ključne informacije o motornoj modifikaciji uz direktnu
konzultaciju s automehaničarom koji je modifikaciju izvršavao, a zatim se u nastavku postavlja
temeljno pitanje: Koji je uzrok loma glave klipa? Ispitivanja u svrhu postizanja odgovora na to
pitanje provedena su u laboratorijskim uvjetima, prateći proceduru analize kvarova (eng.
FMEA – Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
Na temelju dobivenih rezultata ispitivanja izveden je zaključak na temelju kojeg se ostvaruje
bolje razumijevanje ove specifične problematike, a samim time i omogućava prevencija
ponavljanja istog kvara.

Abstract (english)

Modifying a car is a demanding practice that requires a thorough adjustment of vehicle
components in order to achieve better performance. This adjustment includes the tuning of the
software settings of the engine, but also the replacement of numerous other factory-installed
components of the vehicle. Through many years of experience in carrying out such
modifications, car mechanics have identified some frequently recurring problems, and one such
problem is the piston head failure of the EA888/3 CHHA engine. In this paper, one such case
was analyzed, in which a factory-installed piston had failed in an engine that had undergone
significant modification.
In the introductory part of the paper, key information about the engine modification was
reviewed through direct consultation with the car mechanic who carried out the modification.
Subsequently, in the following parts of the paper, the fundamental question is asked : What is
the cause of the piston head failure? In order to find an answer to that question, relevant tests
were carried out in laboratory conditions, following the principles of FMEA - Failure Mode
and Effects Analysis.
On the basis of the obtained test results, a conclusion was drawn on the basis of which a better
understanding of this specific issue is achieved, and thus enables the prevention of repetition of
the same problem.
