Abstract

Diplomski rad sastoji se od teorijskog te eksperimentalnog dijela.
U teorijskom dijelu rada najprije je obrađen sivi lijev, od mikrostrukture, svojstava koje
posjeduje, raznih prisutnih modifikacija do njegovog korozijskog ponašanja. Nadalje opisan
je način korozijske zaštite premazima te uz to detaljnije obrađeni epoksidni premazi. Također
su razrađeni metali s biocidnim učinkom koji se najčešće koriste kao modifikatori premaza u
svrhu poboljšanja njihovih svojstava.
Eksperimentalni dio rada sadrži proces pripremanja, nanošenja i ispitivanja čistog epoksidnog
premaza te premaza s dodacima nanočestica aluminija na uzorcima sivog lijeva. Provedena su
ispitivanja debljine i tvrdoće, određivanja zaštitnog djelovanja četiri vrste nanesenog
epoksidnog premaza uz pomoć elektrokemijske impedancijske spektroskopije te
antibakterijsko ispitivanje. Iz dobivenih rezultata može se zaključiti kako dodatak nanočestica
aluminija u epoksidni premaz poboljšava njegova zaštitna svojstva, dok biocidni učinak nije
postignut.

Abstract (english)

The thesis consists of a theoretical and an experimental part.
In the theoretical part, gray cast iron was first processed, from its microstructure, its
properties, various present modifications to its corrosion behavior. Furthermore, the method
of corrosion protection with coatings is described, also epoxy coatings are treated in more
detail. Metals that have a biocidal effect have also been developed and are most often used as
coating modifiers to improve its properties.
The experimental part contains the process of preparation, application and testing of a pure
epoxy coating and coatings with the addition of aluminum nanoparticles on samples of gray
cast iron. Test of thickness and hardness, determination of the protective effect of four types
of applied epoxy coating with the help of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and
antibacterial testing were performed. From the obtained results, it can be concluded that the
addition of aluminum nanoparticles in the epoxy coating improves its protective properties,
but the biocidal effect is not achieved.
