Abstract

U ovom radu pobliže je sagledan jedan od načina za postizanje vizualno atraktivnijih prikaza tehničkih rješenja s naglaskom na inženjerske radne procese i razvoj proizvoda. Pobliže je sagledan proces kreiranja fotorealističnih rendera 3D CAD modela kao načina na koji se može pospješiti vizualna komunikacija modela u razne svrhe kao što su primjerice marketinške. Nakon analize postojećih vizualizacija tehničkih rješenja dan je pregled nekoliko dostupnih softverskih alata za kreiranje rendera. Odabrani alati su analizirani, a potom uspoređeni, imajući na umu da će model naizglednije biti kreiran u nekom od alata specifične namjene za inženjerske radne procese. Potom je predložena i opisana metodologija izrade rendera. Nakon spomenutog prikazani su primjeri rendera 3D CAD modela napravljeni za potrebe ovog rada te su uspoređeni ishodi. Naposlijetku su navedene preporuke i primjeri dobre prakse te potencijalni problemi uočeni tijekom korištenja odabranih softverskih alata za renderiranje.

Abstract (english)

This paper focuses on the need for more visually attractive representations of technical solutions with an emphasis on engineering work processes and product development. Special focus is put on the process of creating photorealistic renderings of 3D CAD models aimed at increasing the visual effect of models used in different domains, such as marketing. Following the analysis of existing techniques for visualizing technical solutions, an overview of some existing software tools for creating renderings is provided. The chosen tools are then analyzed and compared, taking into account that the model will most likely be created in one of the tools specifically purposed for engineering work processes. Then a methodology of creating renderings is suggested and described. Afterwards, examples of renderings of 3D CAD models made for the purposes of this work are presented and the results are compared. Lastly, recommendations and examples of good practices are given, alongside potential problems which might occur when using the chosen software rendering tools.
