Abstract

Tema ovog završnog rada je proračun čvrstoće vertikalnog nadzemnog spremnika koji služi za
skladištenje nafte pod utjecajem realnih vanjskih uvjeta. Najprije je dan kratki pregled
vertikalnih spremnika i njihove mnogobrojne primjene te uvid u konstrukciju koja je
analizirana, njene dimenzije i opterećenja. Radi verifikacije konačnih elemenata analizirala se
umanjena konstrukcija zbog kompleksnosti analitičkog proračuna primarne konstrukcije.
Analitički proračun proveden je uz primjenu teorije ljusaka, a isti je proračunat numerički
koristeći programski paket ABAQUS® koji se temelji na metodi konačnih elemenata.
Numerički proračun manjeg modela proveden je s tri različita konačna elementa kako bih se
ustanovio optimalni izbor konačnih elemenata za zadana opterećenja. Nakon odabira konačnog
elementa koji najbolje opisuje spremnik i njegova opterećenja dan je uvid u realna opterećenja
izazvana vanjskim čimbenicima kojima je spremnik podvrgnut. Na posljetku je provedena
numerička analiza s više različitih mreža konačnih elemenata različite gustoće kako bih se
dokazalo da rješenja numeričkog modela konvergiraju. Konačno, prikazane su deformacije
konstrukcije te provjera čvrstoće realnog spremnika.

Abstract (english)

The topic of this final paper is the strength calculation of a vertical above-ground tank used for
oil storage under real external conditions. First, a brief overview of vertical tanks and their
numerous applications is provided, along with an introduction to the analyzed structure, its
dimensions and loading conditions. Due to the complexity of the analytical calculation of the
primary structure, a scaled-down model was analyzed for the verification of finite elements.
The analytical calculation was conducted using shell theory and the same model was
numerically calculated using the ABAQUS® software package, which is based on the finite
element method. The numerical analysis of the scaled-down model was carried out using three
different finite elements to determine the optimal choice for the given loads. After selecting the
finite element that best describes the tank and its loads, an overview of the real external loads
affecting the tank was provided. Towards the end, a numerical analysis was carried out using
multiple finite element meshes of varying densities to demonstrate the convergence of the
numerical model's solutions. Finally, the deformations of the structure and the strength
verification of the real tank are presented.
