Abstract

Gorivo su svi materijali koji mogu reagirati s drugim tvarima kako bi se oslobodila energija koja se koristi za rad, a najčešći izvori goriva su ugljikovodici i srodne organske molekule. Fosilna goriva kao što su nafta, prirodni plin i ugljen u svakodnevnoj su uporabi, a njihovim izgaranjem nastaju, između ostalog, i otpadni plinovi koji utječu na zagađenje atmosfere i uzrokuju klimatske promjene. Kako bi se pokušao riješiti ovaj problem razvijaju su e-goriva koja se proizvode korištenjem ugljikovog dioksida ili monoksida zajedno s vodikom dobivenim iz vode, razdvajanjem molekule pomoću električne energije koja je dobivena iz održivih izvora. Ovisno o vrsti tehnologije, moguće je sintetizirati e-metan, e-metanol, e-benzin, e-dizel, e-mlazno gorivo te e-amonijak. Osim toga, cilj je prilagoditi ovu vrstu goriva trenutnim tehnologijama vozila kako bi ulaganja resursa bila što manja, jer je cjelokupan proces prelaska na e-goriva izrazito skup. Na razvoj e-goriva utječu i političke odluke te zakonodavstvo koji određuju u kojoj mjeri te do kojeg vremenskog roka je potrebno smanjiti emisije stakleničkih plinova, a jedna od takvih regulativa je i RED II Direktiva koja je na snazi u Europskoj Uniji. Osim e-goriva, razvijaju se i razna biogoriva čiji su izvori sirovine kao što su poljoprivredni i šumarski proizvodi, alge i slično.

Abstract (english)

Fuel is any material that can react with other substances to release energy that is used for work, and the most common sources of fuel are hydrocarbons and related organic molecules. Fossil fuels such as oil, natural gas and coal are in daily use, and their combustion produces waste gases that affect atmospheric pollution and cause climate change. To solve this problem, e-fuels have been developed that are produced using carbon dioxide or monoxide together with hydrogen obtained from water, separated by sustainable sources of electricity. Depending on the type of technology, it is possible to synthesize e-methane, e-methanol, e-gasoline, e-diesel, e-jet fuel and e-ammonia. In addition, the goal is to adapt this type of fuel to current vehicle technologies so that resource investments are as low as possible, because the entire process of switching to e-fuels is extremely expensive. The development of e-fuels is also influenced by political decisions and regulations that determine to what extent and by what time frame it is necessary to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and one such regulation is the RED II Directive, which is in force in the European Union. In addition to e-fuels, various biofuels are also being developed, the sources of which are raw materials such as agricultural and forestry products, algae etc.
