Abstract

Polimerni kompoziti ojačani ugljičnim vlaknima se već dugi niz godina primjenjuju u vodećim tehničkim industrijama kao što su automobilska i zrakoplovna industrija. Imaju odlična mehanička svojstva kao što su visoka krutost i čvrstoća uz istovremenu nisku gustoću. Uzimajući u obzir ova svojstva, nedugo nakon početka primjene u najvećim industrijama ova vrsta kompozita počela se primjenjivati za izradu suvremene sportske opreme, kao što su teniski i badmintonski reketi, skije i skijaški štapovi, palice za golf i bejzbol, bicikli itd.
Ugljične nanocijevi ili ugljične nanocjevčice su jedan od alotropa ugljika s još boljim svojstvima od ugljičnih vlakana. Koristeći ih kao ojačanje za razne materijale možemo dobiti izvrsna mehanička svojstva te su svoju primjenu našle i u sportskoj opremi.
U ovom radu su prikazani kompoziti ojačani ugljičnim vlaknima s posebnim naglaskom na ugljične nanocjevčice: što su, kako se proizvode, svojstva, moguće opasnosti i koncentrirajući se dodatno na razvoj novih teniskih reketa. Govoreći o teniskim reketima, u radu su također opisani materijali korišteni za njihovu izradu, postupci oblikovanja i povezanost s ugljičnim nanocjevčicama.

Abstract (english)

Carbon fiber reinforced polymer composites (CFRP) are being used in the world's leading tech industries such as automotive and aerospace industries for many years. They have excellent mechanical properties, such as high rigidity and strength while having low density at the same time. Taking into account these properties, shortly after the beginning of application in the largest industries, this type of composite began to be used in the production of modern sports equipment, such as tennis and badminton rackets, skis and ski poles, golf clubs and baseball bats, bicycles, etc.
Carbon nanotubes are one of the allotropes of carbon with even better properties than carbon fibers. Using them as reinforcement for various materials, excellent mechanical properties may be obtained and thus carbon nanotubes have found their application in sports equipment as well.
In this Bachelor thesis, carbon fiber reinforced composites are presented with special emphasis on carbon nanotubes: what are they, how are they produced, properties, and possible hazards, while concentrating further on the development of new tennis rackets. Speaking of tennis rackets, this thesis also describes materials used to make them, shaping processes and the connection with carbon nanotubes.
