Abstract

U ovom radu nakon kratkog pregleda konvencionalnih plastičnih materijala, njihove podjele i svojstava, objašnjeni su mehanizmi kompostiranja i biorazgradnje biorazgradljivih plastičnih materijala. Zatim, opisani su najčešći predstavnici svake od skupina biorazgradljivih plastičnih materijala, kao i njihova svojstva i sirovine. Nadalje, opisani su načini proizvodnje biorazgradljivih plastičnih folija i vrećica, procesni parametri i analiza ciklusa života biorazgradljivih plastičnih materijala s konvencionalnim plastičnim materijalima. Eksperimentalni dio bavi se proučavanjem rastezne čvrstoće i rastezne žilavosti na sedam različitih, komercijalno dostupnih biorazgradljivih folija, kroz 120 dana provedenih u kućnom kompostištu u gradu Zagrebu.

Abstract (english)

This paper sums up conventional polymers and their properties, processes of biodegradation
and the composting of biodegradable polymers. Most common representatives of every group
of biodegradable polymers are described, such as their properties and raw materials.
Furthermore, manufacturing processes and Life cycle analysis are described. In experimental
part of this paper, tensile properties are investegated, such as tensile strength and tensile impact
strength on seven different, comercially available biodegradable foils, throughout 120 days in
the garden composting site in city of Zagreb.
