Abstract

Korozija metala rezultat je kemijskih ili elektrokemijskih reakcija metala s drugim metalom ili okolišom, a rezultira razaranjem materijala uzrokujući goleme štete. Opća korozija najčešći je oblik korozije konstrukcijskih čelika te nastupa jednolično po cijeloj površini dijela. Čelici poboljšane otpornosti na atmosfersku koroziju ciljano su razvijeni za konstrukcije izložene atmosferskim uvjetima. Korozijski sloj koji se formira na površini čelika relativno je stabilan i štiti površinu od daljnjeg prodiranja korozije tako da dodatna zaštita od korozije nije potrebna.
U radu je opisan mehanizam nastanka opće korozije čelika, čimbenici koji utječu na brzinu i intenzitet korozije, a navedeni su i načini zaštite čelika od opće korozije. Dat je pregled razvoja konstrukcijskih čelika poboljšane otpornosti na atmosfersku koroziju te je opisan njihov sastav, struktura i svojstva. Opisan je nastanak sloja patine na površini ovih čelika. Također su navedene i opisane metode za procjenu zaštitnih svojstava korozijskih slojeva.

Abstract (english)

Metal corrosion is the result of chemical or electrochemical reactions of metal with another metal or environment, and results in material destruction causing enormous damage. General corrosion is the most common form of structural steel corrosion and occurs uniformly on the entire exposed surface. Weathering steels are steel alloys developed to be used in structures exposed to environmental impact. The corrosion layer that forms on the steel surface is stable and protects the surface from further corrosion penetration so that additional corrosion protection is not required.
The paper describes the mechanism of general corrosion occurrence and the factors affecting the corrosion rate and intensity. It also adresses methods aimed at protecting steel from the general corrosion. Then an overview of the weathering steels development and a detailed description of their composition, structure and properties are presented. Another important issue considered here is the formation of a patina layer on the surface of these steels. Finally, methods for evaluation of the protective properties of corrosion layers are also discussed.
