Abstract

Šume i drvo imaju važnu ulogu u životu ljudi od prvih početaka civilizacije do današnjih dana. U ovom radu obradit će se drvo kao tehnički materijal. Prikazat će se osnovna građa i sastav drva. Također će se prikazati svojstva drva kao što su higroskopnost, mehanička svojstva, zapaljivost i toplinska svojstva. Drvo je moguće termički i kemijski modificirati kako bi se uklonili nedostaci u vidu propadanja drva i tako povećali njegovu trajnost. Drvo je ortotropan materijal što znači da ima različita svojstva u svakom smjeru i drugačije se ponaša prilikom obrade. Dati će se uvid u rezne alate i vidove rezanja drva. Osim već poznatih tokarilica, glodalica, brusilica i sl. u drvnoj industriji se upotrebljavaju strojevi koji su specijalizirani za obradu drva od kojih će se spomenuti tračne i kružne pile, jarmače i ljuštilice za furnir.

Abstract (english)

Forests and wood have played an important role in people's lives from the earliest beginnings of civilization to the present day. In this paper, wood will be treated as a technical material. The basic structure and composition of the wood will be displayed. Wood properties such as hygroscopicity, mechanical properties, flammability and thermal properties will also be shown. Wood can be thermally and chemically modified to eliminate defects in the form of decaying wood and thus increase its durability. Wood is an orthotropic material which means that it has different properties in each direction and behaves differently when machining. Insights into cutting tools and types of wood cutting will be given. In addition to the already known lathes, milling machines, grinders, etc. the wood industry uses machines that are specialized in woodworking, of which the band and circular saws, masts and veneers will be mentioned.
