Abstract

Hemodijaliza je izvantjelesni postupak kojim se u medicini nastoji pomoću polupropusnih
membrana u uređajima za hemodijalizu ukloniti uremijske toksine. Ovaj diplomski rad donosi
pregled mehanizama kojima se uklanjaju uremijski toksini te pregled materijala koji se koriste
za izradu polupropusnih membrana i postupaka proizvodnje kojima se membrane proizvode.
Opisana su najvažnija svojstva koja dijalizatori posjeduju te utjecaj mikrostrukture na ta
svojstva. Prema porijeklu membrane se dijele na prirodne i sintetske, a prema mikrostrukturi
na simetrične i asimetrične. Provedena je analiza svojstava i njihova usporedba na primjeru tri
različita dijalizatora. Mikrostruktura je ispitana pomoću stereomikroskopa i skenirajućeg
elektronskog mikroskopa (SEM).

Abstract (english)

Haemodialysis is an out-of-body medical procedure to remove uremic toxins with the help of
semipermeable membranes in haemodialysis devices. This Master thesis provides an
overview of the mechanisms by which uremic toxins are removed, an overview of the
materials used to make semipermeable membranes, and the production methods used to make
membranes. The most important properties that dialyzers possess and the influence of
microstructure on these properties are described. By origin, membranes can be either of
natural origin or synthetic; depending on microstructure they are either symmetrical or
asymmetrical. The analysis of properties and their comparison was performed on the example
of three different dialyzers. The microstructure was examined using a stereomicroscope and a
scanning electron microscope (SEM).
