Abstract
U teoriji i praksi postoje različita pojmovna određenja sljedivosti koja se razlikuju upravo po opsegu i vrsti poslovnih aktivnosti koje sustav sljedivosti prati, te po širini područja u kojem se praćenja povezuju u jedinstveni sustav. Svakako najznačajnije područje primjene sustava sljedivost je u opskrbnim lancima u prehrambenoj industriji. Uz određenje pojma sljedivosti, interne i eksterne, u radu su prikazani osnovni elementi strukture sustava sljedivosti poput jedinice za praćenje, sustava identifikacije, prijenosa podataka, itd. Dan je i pregled zakonske regulative Europske unije, te Hrvatske. U praktičnom dijelu prikazana je mogućnost unapređivanja postojećeg sustava distribucije gotovih proizvoda u jednom prehrambenom poduzeću.
