Abstract

U ovom radu su korišteni principi računalne dinamike fluida kako bi se opisao problem pri-
jenosa topline između više različitih tvari koje su u međusobnom dodiru. Takav problem
se na engleskom i u fizici naziva “conjugate heat transfer". Analizira se prijenos topline
između grafičke kartice i vodenog bloka unutar kojeg struji voda koja će prisilnom kon-
vekcijom hladiti procesor, memoriju i druge komponente. Cilj je provjeriti učinkovitost
hlađenja geometrije [21] za grafičku karticu NVIDIA GTX 8800 te predložiti eventualne
promjene tako da hlađenje bude bolje i da se postignu manje temperature na procesoru.
Geometrijska mreža izrađena je koristeći programski paket Salome, a proračun metodom
konačnih volumena je izvršen koristeći programski paket OpenFOAM u kojem je korišten
k − ϵ model turbulencije sa standardnim zidnim funkcijama. Zanimati će nas stacionarno
rješenje.

Abstract (english)

In this work, principles of computational fluid dynamics were used to describe the problem
of heat transfer between multiple different bodies in contact with each other. Such a
problem in physics is referred to as "conjugate heat transfer". The heat transfer between
a graphics card and a water block through which water flows to forcibly cool the processor,
memory, and other components is analyzed. The goal is to assess the cooling efficiency
of the geometry given by [21] for the NVIDIA GTX 8800 graphics card and propose
potential changes to improve cooling and achieve lower temperatures on the processor.
The geometric mesh was created using the software package Salome and the calculation
was performed using the finite volume method with the OpenFOAM software, utilizing
the k − ϵ turbulence model with standard wall functions. We will be interested in the
steady-state solution.
