Abstract

Prekomjerna upotreba polimernih vrećica dobivenih iz naftnih derivata i njihovo neprikladno zbrinjavanje predstavljaju značajne izazove za današnje društvo. Kako bi se smanjile ekološke posljedice sve veće potrošnje polimernih vrećica, započeo je intenzivniji razvoj biorazgradivih polimera te je Europska unija donijela zakone kojima se regulira potrošnja polimernih vrećica. U ovom diplomskom radu provedena je kvantitativna analiza degradacije svojstava vrećica od kompostabilnog biorazgradivog polimera. Iz vrećica su izrezani uzorci za ispitivanje vlačno-udarne čvrstoće, u skladu s normom ISO 8256. Tri skupine ispitnih uzoraka zakopane su svaka u različitu vrstu komposta, četvrta skupina je ostavljena na tlu, a peta u sobnim uvjetima. Ispitni uzorci su uzimani iz navedenih lokacija u tri navrata s razmakom od dvadeset dana. Ispitnim uzorcima izmjerena je debljina mikrometrom i ispitana vlačno-udarna čvrstoća. Primjetan je inicijalni pad vlačno-udarne čvrstoće između 25 i 40 %, nakon kojeg se vrijednost čvrstoće stabilizira. Nije utvrđena korelacija između promjene debljine i vlačno-udarne čvrstoće ispitnih uzoraka nakon kompostiranja.

Abstract (english)

The excessive use of polymer carrying bags made from petroleum and their inadequate waste management present significant challenges for temporary society. A stronger development of biodegradable polymers and the introduction of legislation regulating polymer carrying bag consumption is attempting to reduce the ecological consequences of the growing consumption of polymer carrying bags. In this Master thesis, a quantitative analysis of the mechanical properties degradation for compostable biodegradable polymer carrying bags was conducted. Specimens for the determination of tensile-impact strength according to the ISO 8256 standard were cut from carrying bags, according to the. Three groups of test specimen were placed each in a different type of compost, the fourth group was left lying on the ground, while the fifth group was in room conditions. The test specimens were removed from the aforementioned locations on three occasions with an interval of twenty days. The tensile-impact strength and the thickness of the test specimens were measured. A noticeable initial drop in strength between 25 and 40 % was observed, after which the tensile-impact strength was stabilised. There wasn’t any confirmed correlation between the reduced thickness and tensile-impact strength of the test specimens after composting.
