Abstract

U današnje vrijeme korozijsko djelovanje jedan je od ključnih faktora u ekonomskom, sigurnosnom i ekološkom aspektu. Suvremena rješenja su ekološki prihvatljivi vodorazrjedivi premazi za zaštitu od korozije. Njihov razvoj i sve veća primjena posebno su intenzivirani zbog zakonskih odredbi koje ograničavaju emisiju hlapivih organskih otapala u okoliš. Radi proširenja dosadašnjih saznanja, u doktorskom su radu istražena svojstva i ponašanje vodorazrjedivih premaza kod različitih temperatura sušenja, kod nanošenja u debelom sloju te je posebno istražena učinkovitost zaštite vodorazrjedivim sustavima premaza. Istraživanja su usporedno provedena i na premazima na bazi otapala. Za istraživanja su korištene znanstvene polarizacijske elektrokemijske metode, ispitivanja elektrokemijskom impedancijskom spektroskopijom te ubrzana korozijska ispitivanja u komorama. Učinkovitost sustava premaza ispitana je naizmjeničnim uranjanjem. Sušenje premaza istraženo je periodičkim praćenjem tvrdoće, određivanjem fizikalnih svojstva premaza te mjerenjem vremena sušenja. Svojstva sloja kod različitih temperatura sušenja te nanošenja u debelom sloju promatrana su na pretražnom elektronskom mikroskopu. Rezultati istraživanja predstavljaju doprinos u poznavanju zaštitnih svojstva i mehanizma otvrdnjavanja vodorazrjedivih premaza kod različitih uvjeta sušenja.

Abstract (english)

Nowadays, the corrosion effect is one of the key factors from an economic, safety and ecological point of view. Modern solutions are environmentally friendly waterborne coatings for corrosion protection. The use and development of waterborne coatings have grown considerably due to regulations which limit the emission of volatile organic compounds in the air. With the aim of contributing to our present knowledge, this PhD thesis examines the properties and behavior of waterborne coatings at different drying temperatures and thick film application, and it especially examines the protection efficiency of waterborne coatings systems. Tests have been simultaneously carried out on solvent borne coatings. In this research, electrochemical polarization methods, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and accelerated corrosion tests in chambers have been used. The protection properties of the coating system have been examined by alternate immersion. The drying of the coatings was examined by periodical monitoring of hardness, determining the physical properties of coatings, and measuring the drying time. The properties of the layer at different drying temperatures and thick film application were observed using a scanning electronic microscope. The research findings represent a contribution to our understanding of protection properties and hardening mechanisms of waterborne coatings under different drying conditions.
