Abstract

Glavni zahtjev natjecateljskog automobila je minimalno vrijeme potrebno za savladavanje određene trkaće staze. U cilju ostvarivanja glavnog zahtjeva, inženjeri veliku pozornost pridaju oblikovanju aerodinamičkih komponenti jer i najmanja promjena aerodinamičkih komponenti dat će znatne promjene u performansama automobila. Zadatak ovoga rada bio je istražiti strujanje oko modela stražnjeg krila natjecateljskog automobila s posebnom pozornošću na aerodinamičke sile koje djeluju na stražnje krilo prilikom vožnje natjecateljskog automobila. U radu su također pokazane beneficije pri uporabi aktivnog stražnjeg krila, koje se ostvaruju promjenom napadnog kuta jedne od lopatica za vrijeme vožnje. U radu su prikazane dvije varijante stražnjeg krila. Proračuni su izvršeni u programskom paketu openFOAM. Korišteni je model nestlačivog stacionarnog turbulentnog strujanja, a turbulencija je modelirana pomoću k − ωSST modela turbulencije. U svim proračunima brzina neporemećenog strujanja bila je 20 m/s. U analizi rezultata dan je prikaz: polja brzina, raspodjele bezdimenzijskog koeficijenta tlaka po stražnjem krilu, intenziteta i veličine vrtložnog traga, te usporedba aerodinamičikih sila za različite varijante krila.

Abstract (english)

The main demand of a race car is to set the fastest lap around a particular race track. In order to achieve the main demand, engineers pay great attention to the design of aerodynamic components, because even the smallest changes to the aerodynamic components will give significant changes in the performance of the car. The task of this thesis was to investigate the flow around the rear wing of a race car with particular attention to the aerodynamic forces that act on the rear wing when driving a race car. The thesis also demonstrates the benefits of using the active rear wing, which is achieved by changing the angle of attack of one of the blades while driving. Two variants of the rear wing are presented in the thesis. The calculations were made in the openFOAM software package. A incompressible steady-state turbulent flow model was used, and turbulence was modeled using a k-ωSST turbulence model. In all calculations, the velocity of undisturbed flow was 20 m/s. The analysis of the results shows: velocity fields, distribution of pressure coefficient on the rear wing, vortex trace intensity and magnitude, and comparison of aerodynamic forces for different wing variants.
