Abstract

Uz predviđene dimenzije spremnika, provedeno je temeljito ispitivanje čvrstoće za maksimalni ispitni tlak. Ova procjena obuhvatila je i analitičke izračune i numeričke simulacije, primjenom teorija membranskog naprezanja i teorije savijanja ljuske kako bi se osigurala što preciznija procjena. Posebna se pažnja posvetila kompleksnosti geometrije eliptične ljuske. U numeričkoj analizi korišten je softver baziran na metodi konačnih elemenata, ABAQUS® , za simulaciju ponašanja spremnika pod zadanim uvjetima opterećenja. Prije početka samog numeričkog proračuna, napravljen je postupak verifikacije konačnih elemenata na jednostavnijim
konstrukcijama, kako bi se omogućio odabir najprikladnijeg elementa za zadani problem. Po završetku numeričkih simulacija, dobiveni rezultati uspoređeni su s analitičkim rješenjima kako bi se potvrdila točnost i pouzdanost numeričkog modela. Ovaj sveobuhvatni pristup omogućio je robusnu procjenu strukturnih performansi spremnika, pružajući dragocjene uvide u njegovo ponašanje u radnim uvjetima.

Abstract (english)

The final work was primarily focused on a comprehensive analysis of a compressed air tank, specially designed to supply air for starting a marine engine. In addition to the intended dimensions of the tank, a thorough strength test was carried out for the maximum test pressure. This assessment included both analytical calculations and numerical simulations, applying membrane stress theory and shell theory to ensure the most accurate assessment possible. Special attention was paid to the complexity of the geometry of the elliptical shell. In the numerical analysis, software based on the finite element method, ABAQUS®, was used to simulate the behavior of the tank under given load conditions. Before starting the actual numerical analysis, a finite element verification procedure was performed on simpler structures, in order to enable the selection of the most appropriate element for the given problem. Upon completion of the numerical simulations, the obtained results were compared with the analytical solutions in order to confirm the accuracy and reliability of the numerical model. This comprehensive approach enabled a robust assessment of the tank's structural performance, providing valuable insights into its behavior under operating conditions.
