Abstract

Razvoj motora i motornih vozila u današnje vrijeme nezamisliv je bez upotrebe različitih oblika računalnih simulacija koje nastoje u što je moguće većoj mjeri zamijeniti dosadašnje eksperimentalne ili metode pokušaja i promašaja. U okviru ovog završnog rada provedena je računalna simulacija koja se temelji na modelima radnog ciklusa motora. Modeli radnog ciklusa motora kombiniraju termodinamički (OD) proračun izgaranja u cilindru i jednodimenzionalni (1D) proračun strujanja fluida. Za potrebe provođenja simulacije izrađen je proračunski model četverocilindričnog četverotaktnog prednabijenog motora sa stranim izvorom paljenja u programskom paketu AVL Boost. Cilj ispitivanja bio je usporediti utjecaj različith načina upravljanja turbopunjačem na performanse motora s unutarnjim izgaranjem. U svrhu upravljanja korišteni su konvencionalni načini: „waste gate“ ventil i turbina promjenjive geometrije te elektromotor koji je kruto povezan s vratilom turbopunjača i ima mogućnost rada i u motornom i u generatorskom načinu. Ispitivanje je provedeno pri punom opterećenju kroz cijelo područje brzine vrtnje motora, a cilj je bio postići najveću raspoloživu snagu slijedeći primjere dobre inženjerske prakse u razvoju motora, drugim riječima, uz ograničenje da radne točke motora ne izlaze van područja rada kompresora u kompresorskoj mapi te ograničenje vrijednosti tlaka ispuha. Ispitivanje je započelo pronalaženjem optimalnih vrijednosti parametara svih regulacija. Nakon što su pronađene optimalne vrijednosti provedena je simulacija i uspoređeni su dobiveni rezultati. U poglavlju s rezultatima posebno potpoglavlje posvećeno je mogućnosti regeneracije energiju uz pomoć električno potpomognutog turbopunjača.

Abstract (english)

Development of engines and motor vehicles in today`s time is unimaginable without the use of different types of computer simulations which tends to, as much as possible, replace previous experimental or method of attempts and failures. Within this final report a computer simulation that is based on cycle to cycle engine variations model was conducted. Cycle to cycle engine variations model combine thermodynamic (0D) calculation of in-cylinder combustion and one-dimensional (1D) fluid flow calculation. For the purposes of executing compter simulation a calculation model of four-cylinder four-stroke turbocharged spark ignited engine was made in computer program package AVL Boost. The aim of testing was to compare infulence of different turbocharger control strategies on internal combustion engine performance. For the purpose of control conventional methods: „waste gate“ and variable turbine geometry (VTG) and an electric motor (that can work both in motor and generator mode) rigidly connected to the turbocharger shaft were used. The test was carried out at full load across the engine speed range, and the aim was to achieve the maximum available power by following good engineering practice examples in the engine development, in other words, with the limitation that the engine operating points do not go outside the compressor map and with limit that the exhaust pressure values does not exceed limited value. The investigation was started by finding optimal values of all control parameters. After optimum values were found, the simulation was performed and the obtained results were compared. In the chapter with the results the special sub-chapter is specially devoted to the possibilities of regeneration of energy with the help of an electrically assisted turbocharger.
